Assam Govt forms joint inspection team

Guwahati: The Assam Governmet has constituted a Joint Inspection Team to ascertain the progress of implementation of the Monisana Wage Board and for submission of report, including assessment of arrears payable by each of the newspapers establishments.

The team is also appointed as Inspector within the territorial jurisdiction of the state for the purpose of the Act and shall remain till expiry of their term.

The term of the committee shall be for 12 months from the date of issue of the notification, a press release said here today.

The members of the Joint Inspection Team are president of Journalists Union Assam G Pathak, Advisor of Assam Press Correspondents’ Union Bhabesh Barua, president of Assam Tribune Employees Union Saifuddin Ahmed, president/secretary or his nominee of Small and Medium Newspaper Association of India, one representative from Assam Branch of Association of Small and Medium Newspaper of India, General Secretary of Journalist Union of Assam BB Lahkar, General secretary of Assam Union of Working Journalist Pulin Deka, president of Assam Union of Working Journalist Keshab Kalita, General Secretary of Assam Tribune Employees Union Dugdha Ram Kalita and President/Secretary or his authorised Representative of North-East Newspaper Society.

The government representatives in the team are Asstt. Labour Commissioners of HQ and Ulubari, Labour Officers of Cachar, Guwahati, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Jorhat and Diburgarh respectively. (UNI)
