Conrad visits Bethany Hospital on re-opening day

GUWAHATI: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma on Saturday visited Bethany Hospital in Shillong  which  reopened for patients after remaining closed since a doctor in the hospital was tested positive for COVID-19 and subsequently died last month.

It happened to be first COVID-19 patient in Meghalaya and several cases were later detected in the sate in connection with the first case. All the doctors, nurses and other  health workers, staff, in-patients and their contacts, out patients and their contacts were tested for COVID-19 infection by Meghalaya Health Department as preventive measure and as per  protocols prescribed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

“Joined the family, and staff of Bethany Hospital as it officially reopens. I thank the entire Bethany Hospital Team who responded to the pressure in a positive and cooperative manner. I also thank the network and the community that supported the Govt. & Bethany during the time,” Conrad Sangma tweeted.
