SHILLONG: Even though positive cases of coronavirus are rising, Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek has asserted that there is no community transmission in the region and the state as of now.
“There is no community transmission as of now and all of these cases have come from outside,” he said.
Majority of the positive cases which are being reported in Assam are from those who have returned to the state, he added.
Even in Meghalaya, the persons with positive cases are the returnees. “With over 10,000 people returning to the state, it would be a challenge but the government is working well to ensure that the disease is contained,” he said while adding that the returnees who are testing positive have been isolated.
Hek informed that the people who are infected with COVID-19 in the state are fine.
