Public transport resumes movement with 50% capacity in WGH

TURA: Public transport vehicles on Monday resumed their operation in West Garo Hills District after the order allowing their movement was issued by the district administration on Sunday.

The order allowing their movement (with 50% capacity) within the district was issued by the District Transport Officer.

As per the order, public buses have been allowed to ply on various district routes which included the Tura to Tikrikilla via Garobadha/Selsella, Tura to Phulbari via Garobadha/Selsella, Tura to Dadenggre, Tura to Singgimari via Garobadha, Tura to Rajabala via Selsella, Tura to Dalu and Tura to Jengjal.

Other public transport like Winger and Sumo have been allowed to operate from Tura to Dalu, Tura to Dadenggre, Tura to Tikrikilla via Dadenggre and Tura to Phulbari via Dadenggre. Maxi Taxis have also been allowed to operate (with 50% capacity) on odd-even basis.

The movement of these vehicles will continue in the same arrangement till June 8.

Meanwhile, curfew under Section 144 CrPC has also been extended in the district till June 8 with the same prohibitions and exemptions.

All activities which were allowed in previous orders remain the same.
