Portraits of freedom fighters unveiled in Shillong Raj Bhavan

SHILLONG: The portraits of the three prominent freedom fighters of the state – Pa Togan N. Sangma, U Tirot Sing and U Kiang Nangbah – were unveiled on Saturday  in the presence of Governor of Meghalaya Tathagata Roy, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh, Cabinet Ministers, Judges of the High Court of Meghalaya at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Shillong.

These paintings are made by renowned artist Raphael Warjri.

“It was a moment of pride to unveil the portraits of the Freedom Fighters of  #Meghalaya – Pa Togan Sangma, U Tirot Sing Syiem and U Kiang Nangbah at Raj Bhavan, #Shillong. This is a befitting tribute to our heroes who fought bravely for our State and our people,” tweeted the Chief Minister of Meghalaya.
