SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma praised the efforts of volunteers from different communities for extending help during the lockdown.
On Saturday, the chief minister on his Facebook page showed his appreciation for various communities for their ‘únconditional’ contribution to the society calling it ‘heartwarming’ and ‘inspirational’.
‘’Ours is a land of love & togetherness. The Sikh community, Bengali community and the Marwari community have extended a helping hand by doing their bit. While the Sikh community is cooking meals for thousands of people every day, the Bengali community tied up with Ramakrishna for supply of free essential food items and the Marwari community has installed several water tanks across Meghalaya to stop the spread of Covid-19,’’ read the CM’s post.
‘It is not only heartwarming but inspirational, to see these samaritans work and contribute unconditionally to society at large,’ the post added.
