NONGSTOIN: Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Education Cell, West Khasi Hills, on Monday, appealed to the teachers and the managing committee of various schools and colleges to relax the fees of the students.
Earlier, the central government had urged private schools across the country not to increase school fees, and not to charge three-month fees in one go.
Education secretary of KSU, WKH Unit, Franklin Syiemiong, urged the school management to alleviate the hardships faced by the parents of the students, especially the ones who are earning to just make ends meet. It also urged the institutions to not sell their prospectuses at an increased price and to rather provide an option of instalments for payment of fees.
