Food outlets, salons allowed to open in WGH

TURA: Further relaxing Covid-19 restrictions in the district, food outlets and salons have been allowed to open up in West Garo Hills.

According to the order issued by the Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh in pursuance of the Order issued by Government of Meghalaya, Political Department, Restaurants/ Cafes/ Food Outlets excluding those that are located along the National Highways subject to compliance with the SOP issued by the Tourism Department, Government of Meghalaya are being allowed to operate in the district.

Further, barber shops/ beauty parlours/ salons are also allowed to open subject to strict compliance of health protocol as mentioned in the Order issued by the Government of Meghalaya, Health & Family Welfare Department.

The timing for operation of these establishments will be from 9:00 AM to 5:00PM each day.

The order also warned that in case of failure to adhere to the SOP issued by the Government of Meghalaya, Department of Tourism and Health & Family Welfare Department, shops will be liable to be proceeded against as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides legal action under Section 188 of the IPC, and other legal provisions as applicable.
