Shillong: After the issue of re-appointment of W Kharmalki, Chief Engineer, State Sports Council gathered vehement criticism from all sections of society, the Civil Society Women’s Organisation (CSWO) has now come up with fresh allegations against the Social Welfare Department stating that the re-employment of retired persons has become a trend nowadays.
Alleging that the Social Welfare Department has adopted the same trend, CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing said that recently it was noticed that as per the advertisement notified by the Department, there was no upper age limit mentioned for the Post of Mission Director for the Meghalaya State Women Resource Centre.
“This advertisement was tailor made for the recently retired Additional and Assistant Director of the Social Welfare Department L Jyrwa”, Kharshiing alleged.
“This is becoming a trend in Meghalaya. Most of these retired persons are being reemployed some way or the other, leaving no room for others who are on the look-out for jobs,” the CSWO president added.
Whereas advertisements for the other posts mentioned the upper age limit the post of Mission Director did not mention age.
The CSWO has also filed a complaint to the Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, New Delhi in this regard, Kharshiing informed while urging the state government to instruct its officials to abstain from making their own rules.
Meanwhile, the CSWO has also extended their support to the demand of the KSU with regards to scrapping of service extension to State Sports Council, Chief Engineer W. Kharmalki.
