DC issues weather warning in SWKH

MAWKYRWAT: With the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) sounding a warning over the state, the Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills District, Isawanda Laloo, on Wednesday, issued an advisory to the people of the district that they should be alert to any untoward incident.
According to the weather forecast of the IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall and extremely heavy rainfall may lash Meghalaya at isolated places from June 24 to 28. ‘Red warning’ has been issued for South West Khasi Hills for June 25 and 26 and ‘orange warning’ for June 24, 27 and 28.
“You are requested to monitor the situation and take appropriate precautionary measures. You are requested to inform of any incident and to make interim first information report,” the DC said in letters to officers of different departments.
