PM announce Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia against each of flood deaths in Assam

GUWAHATI : Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on Friday announced  Rs 2 lakh  ex-gratia to next of kin of each of the persons who have died due to flood in the state. The money will be paid from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
Earlier, the PM had called up Assam Chief Minister Sarbanada Sonowal to take stock of the state’s grim flood situation besides the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic that has reached a critical state. The PM assured all help from the Central government at this time crisis in Assam.
The Chief Minister apprised the Prime Minister of all the steps taken by Assam government in tackling the flood and erosion  problem  that had affected  25 districts in the state.
Sonowal also detailed the PM on the steps taken by the state government  to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
