One held over sexual assault

NONGSTOIN:  Police have arrested one Sharless Ryntong (24) of Nongtraw village, Maweit for allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting a minor girl last week.
The police said the accused kidnapped the minor girl on Thursday and sexually assaulted her the following day.
The villagers on Sunday apprehended the accused and produced him at Nongstoin PS, while the victim was taken to Nongstoin CHC for medical examination.
In this regard, the relatives of the victim filed an FIR, and a case has been registered under relevant sections of POCSO Act and IPC.
