JOWAI: The All Jaintia Youth Federation (AJYWO) East Jaintia Zone (EJZ) has set a one month ultimatum to all cement plants operational in East Jaintia Hills District for employing inter-state migrant labour without proper and valid documents such as work permit, labour license and tradition license for non-tribal contractors working in the cement factories.

The AJYWO has expressed their concern over the lapses in functioning of the Labour Department of the state government which raised its head in the form of improper implementation of the Inter-state migrant labour Act in the area.

All Cement Plants have been asked to obtain necessary documents from the concerned department within one month failing which the AJYWO-EJZ will take their own course of action against all those who failed to produce valid documents on demand.

The AJYWO has also urged the East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner to look in to the matter seriously for the betterment of the people in the district.
