16th COVID-19 patient dies in Assam on Tuesday

GUWAHATI:  One of COVID-19 patient in the state passed away today in Guwahati. The patients Devi Kakati of Kamrup was admitted in 151 Base Hospital, Basistha on July 2 last. She happened to the 16th patient to die in the state so far.

“Loss of one more precious life! Anguished to share passing away of Late Smt Devi Kakati of Kamrup. She was admitted to 151 Base Hospital, Basistha, on July 2 & diagnosed #COVID19+ with Type II Diabetes and hypertension. Despite best efforts we lost her. My heartfelt condolences,” tweeted the Health Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma

Meanwhile, as many as 814 new COVID 19 positive cases were detected in the state today including 588 in Guwahati City alone.

Health Minister has termed figures of COVID-19 positive cases as not very encouraging and stated that self-control on part of the state people especially those in Guwahati city is critical at this stage.
