Sonowal announces schemes to arrest erosion at Rohmoria

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday announced three new schemes amounting to Rs 25 crore to help check the erosion activities at Rohmoria in Dibrugarh district of Assam.

Sonowal said that the state government is taking all the necessary steps to combat the menace caused due to erosion.

‘”Today, I have announced three new schemes amounting to ₹ 25 crores which will help to check erosion activities in the Rohmoria area, ” tweeted  Sonowal.

Sonowal also visited the Rohmoria and inspected the erosion hit areas of the place. He was accompanied by minister Rameswar Teli, Keshab Mahanta and MLA Rituparna Baruah.

Sonowal directed the officials to immediately carry out repair works and take necessary anti-erosion measures at the earliest.
