Shillong: A police constable LR Marak was placed under suspension after one Tapan Deb, an accused in various theft related cases, escaped from the Sadar Police Station on August 14.
Informing this here on Thursday, new East Khasi Hills SP, M Kharkrang, said that the accused was immediately re-arrested from Rilbong by Sub-Inspector KP Singh, the in-charge of Cantonment Beat House, after he was alerted about the escape.
