Assam reports 892 new COVID-19 cases

GUWAHATI: As many as 892 new COVID-19 cases were detected in Assam in the last 24 hours, including 598 in Guwahati city alone.

“892 new COVID19 ve+ patients in Assam Out of these, 598 patients are from Kamrup (Metro), which include 184 from Guwahati Jail” tweeted Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

With the detection of the new cases, total cases in the state stand at 20,646. There are at present 7,039 active cases while 13,554 patients have recovered from the disease. The state has recorded 50 deaths due to COVID-19 so far.
