Gabil PHC gets ambulance
SHILLONG: A new ambulance has been handed over to BAKDIL-run Gabil PHC under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund scheme. Bajengdoba MLA Ponseng R Marak handed over the ambulance key to Fr. Sunny Joseph Mavelil, Director BAKDIL. Two ambulances had been sanctioned for North Garo Hills under the CMRF scheme, one each for Gabil and Karkutta PHC.
Dorbar happy over repair of road
SHILLONG: The Umpling Dorbar Shnong has expressed its satisfaction after the road connecting Lumdiengmet and Nongmynsong, which was in dilapidated condition, was repaired. Rangbah Shnong of Umpling Sanwat F Pyngope said that the bridge connecting Umpling with RR Colony is under construction and several people have been using the Lumdiengmet–Nongmynsong road to reach the city. As many activities are taking place in New Shillong Township, heavy trucks have also been plying on the road which deteriorated the road condition. While the Dorbar usually repairs the road with the help of the locals from the area, but this time, the road was repaired including the contribution of Mawryngkneng MLA, David Nongrum.
Online entry to RKM competition
SHILLONG: In view of the ongoing pandemic, the 46th Annual Cultural Competition of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre (RKMVCC), Shillong, will, this time, be held online and entries to it have also been opened. On the brighter side, since the event will be online this year, youths from the entire state will have the opportunity to participate in the event. Online entries will be accepted till August 15. Candidates can visit acc.rkmshillong.org to enroll their names competition. No enrolment fee will be charged from the participants. A facilitation desk at RKMVCC has been opened for candidates who may find difficulty in online form filling or uploading. During the competition, participants will make videos of their performance and upload it in a given link for all competitions except quiz and debate. Date of live streaming of competition through YouTube and Facebook will be intimated through text message/email and result of each competition will be available only on the website after the competition is over.
DC releases rice in WGH
TURA: The Deputy Commissioner (Supply) of West Garo Hills has informed that the regular quota of rice for the month of July for AAY, PHH and non-NFSA beneficiaries, in respect of Tura Sadar Division, has been released.
The DC has directed all the fair price shop dealers to issue rice as per government prescribed scale of 35 kg per card per month at the rate of Rs 3 per kg for AAY (yellow card) beneficiaries, 5 kg per head per month at Rs 3 per kg for PHH (pink) beneficiaries and 7.10 kg per card per month, for non-NFSA (blue) beneficiaries, the price for which has to be fixed by the price vigilance committee of fair price shop centre, not exceeding Rs 13 per kg.
