SHILLONG: The Chairman of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), who is also the MDC of Sohryngkham, Pyniaid Sing Syiem, has urged Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to ensure that residents of Umpling are not discriminated.
Syiem said that health facilities and other offices have refused to admit residents of Umpling.
“Just because the residents are from a place where there are many BSF personnel, they cannot refuse the needy people”, Syiem said.
The MDC in a letter to the chief minister has urged him to direct government offices to not stigmatise residents of Umpling.
