The third wave of flood this year has taken a heavy toll on animals in the national park which is better known as abode of Indian rhinoceros. The park has lost 137 animals in the current wave of flood including 14 rhinos and 101 hog deer.

However, 43 forest camps inside the national park out of the total 223 camps have remained under flood water while three camps have remained vacated till date.
