Govt issues fresh SOPs for people entering state

SHILLONG: As the city continues to remain under the purview of three-day lockdown in view of the spurt in COVID-19 cases, the Health department on Tuesday issued a slew of fresh standard operating procedures (SOPs) for people entering the state.
Pre-registration
According to the state government order, people coming from outside the state should pre-register themselves on meghalayaonline.gov.in/covid/selfregistration. However, for the people who do not pre-register themselves on the website, the government has directed them to register themselves at the entry point through the web app (coronamegh.cdfi.co.in).
Screening at entry points
Furthermore, according to the order, people entering the state will have to undergo thermal scanning for body temperature scanning, following which they will undergo Rapid Antigen or RT-PCR test at the entry point.
“Sampling can be done either at quarantine or Corona Care Centres or at facilities as designated by the Districts,” the order read.
The order also said that a person will have to undergo a 14-day home quarantine if found negative, adding, “If the test result is positive, the protocol dated March 28 and July 27 for COVID positive cases shall be followed”.
Home quarantine
According to the order, people who had tested negative and who has completed 14 days of home or community or institutional quarantine, will be then allowed to go out.
“However, they will have to follow the health protocols as per the self-monitoring diary for the next 14 days. They will also follow the three non-negotiable points of regular hand cleansing, wearing of face masks properly and maintaining of six-feet physical distancing at all times,” the order said.
The order also said that people under home quarantine will be monitored by District Surveillance Team and Community COVID Management Team.
Moreover, according to the order, people under home quarantine will have to enter their daily health status as well as the health status of the family members in the diary provided.
“If they find any symptoms for themselves or their family members, they shall report to 108 or contact District Helpline number given in the diary,” the directive from the Health department said. The phone numbers of all those entering the state shall be put for geofencing and an SMS warning will be sent to those who break the quarantine, the order said.
External monitoring
Furthermore, according to the order, the designated monitoring team set up by the respective district will keep a tab on the people under home quarantine by visit them on an everyday basis. “The team will use a Web App which is GPS-enabled, thus helping in tracking the movement of the monitoring team and ensuring that they visit all the houses allotted to them,” the order said.
According to the order, all those under quarantine and symptomatic will be tested through RT-PCR
