SHILLONG: Ryntih Sports and Cultural Club signed a goodwill agreement and tied up with Bhutan based Transport United FC to expand cooperation between the two entities in terms of football.
A senior official of Ryntih SC, WallamKharpran stated, “This agreement between both the clubs shall serve as a huge boost for the Club and its aspirations of becoming a renowned sports team in the Nation. The club envisions providing the best of platforms for budding and talented sportspersons and this tie up with Transport United FC (TUFC) shall help them achieve this milestone in the near future.”
As Ryntih SC is currently awaiting its fate of its dream of competing in the AIFF, another club statement asserted that the club shall not give up its dream of competing and providing its fans and players with platforms of the highest quality. The senior official further added that the primary objective of this partnership with an international club is to promote the spirit of football in both countries and also to provide platform for players from India and Bhutan to play in the top leagues of their respective country.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between both parties have been signed for a period of two years with both Clubs aiming to work closely to improve, strengthen and uplift the beautiful game of football in both clubs and countries.A Club statement added, Transport United FC is a professional football club from Thimphu, Bhutan, currently playing in the Bhutan Premier League, the top level of football in Bhutan.
Transport United has won six national championships and was a dominant force in Bhutanese football throughout much of the first decade of the twenty-first century. In the 2017 season, the club won the title after completing an entire season undefeated and hence qualified for the AFC Cup for the first time. So far, The club has qualified and played 4 AFC Presidents’ cup and 2 AFC Cup. This Tie-up between Ryntih SC and Transport United FC hopes to become a staple for the development of the game of football for all age groups and gender alike, paving way for many more aspiring talents of the Meghalaya, North East India and the Nation as a whole to achieve laurels at the highest level.
