TURA: The A’chik Youth Movement for Betterment of Society (AYMBS) has alleged that illegal smuggling of cattle from Assam to Bangladesh through AMPT road is still continuing.
It has also sought the intervention of government to put a stop to the illegal activity. In a letter to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, the organisation claimed that the involvement of certain individuals in the activity was revealed in the video clip taken recently but no action has been taken against the culprits.
“The illegal activity taking place during the covid-19 lockdown is unacceptable as it poses the risk of infection of the virus,” the organisation said.
The organization, while demanding that the government should immediately take steps to put a stop to the activity, also urged it to restrict the entry of people from Assam into the region.
