SHILLONG: Cabinet Minister and BJP leader, AL Hek, has urged the Centre to incorporate local-centric knowledge and skills in the recently-introduced New Education Policy.
In a video conference of the BJP with the central leadership including party president JP Nadda, HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal and other top leaders, Hek suggested that local knowledge and skills, which is demand-driven, must be incorporated in the policy.
The inclusion of these aspects would bring great transformation in the country in terms of skill and employment, the minister said.
His suggestions found the support from other leaders of the party as well.
Hek called the New Education Policy as historic and a landmark decision while thanking the Union Government for passing the legislation.
