SHILLONG: A day after Agriculture Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh announced the decision of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) to waive the loan of farmers in the state under Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme for seven months, Congress Spokesperson and Mawsynram MLA, HM Shangpliang has jumped in to action saying that the state government should waive all loans extended to the farmers. (Shangpliang pointed out that even the Central government during the pandemic had declared a package to waive the loans of the farmers.
“I request the Chief Minister to intervene into the matter and help solve the problem of the farmers by waving their loan rather than extending the period of loan recovery,” Shangpliang said.
