Children participate in a virtual violin class near the Rangjokram Lake at Dekachang in Resubelpara, North Garo Hills. The corona pandemic has shut down many activities and changed the course of our lives. But many people, especially children and young adolescents, have found ways to escape the anxiety and cynicism in the air. In North Garo Hills, a group of 50 children has found solace in violin. Their teacher, KD Momin, said he started classes on WhatsApp immediately after the first phase of the lockdown. Each class comprises not more than three students and they follow all health protocols. There are students from several localities like Resu-Bakrapara, Dilma-Apal, Dome-Anti and Mendipathar-Bazar. Classes are usually conducted outdoors. Momin said the district administration and police are encouraging more young talents to join the classes.
