6th Assam cop dies of COVID19

GUWAHATI:  Assam Police have lost its 6th personnel so far in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the state. A constable of the state police force died due to COVID-19 infection taking the number of deaths in the force’s ranks due to the virus infection to six.

Lakheswar Hazarika, a constable in Nagaon Police made the supreme sacrifice in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are saddened to inform that Constable Lakheswar Hazarika of @nagaonpolice made the supreme sacrifice in the fight against #COVID_19. Our thoughts & prayers are with his family. Those who passed away fighting #Corona, continue inspiring us to serve the people even better,” Assam Police tweeted on Friday.

It may be mentioned that 2154 Assam Police personnel tested positive for Coronavirus till Friday. Out of them 1543 have recovered and 607 personnel have re-joined duty.
