New containment zone at Mawbah

SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills District Magistrate has declared the compound of Sanisha Kharlukhi at Mawbah (Barapathar) as a containment area so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit movement.
In a statement on Saturday, the magistrate said that the order was issued due to the detection of positive COVlD-19 cases/high risk contacts in the specific identified compound in Mawbah and due to the recent high risk and low risk contact with the COVID-19 positive cases.
The official said the vulnerable and affected areas require aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of the health of the general public against any possible spread of COVID-19.
According to the order, the Incident Commander, Zone-IV will be the supervising officer of the compound of Kharlukhi.
Orders lifted
The district magistrate also lifted the containment orders for the houses of Mildred Pyngrope in Shiv Mandir lane, Pynthorbah, Perlinsila Rumnong near Bilco School, Pynthorbah, Bapon Dey, Saint Nanak School lane, Pynthorbah, houses and compounds of Elinora Lyngdoh and Margaret Lyngdoh of Block-II, Golflink Khliehshnong and the house of Salvania Kharkrang at Mawshaton with immediate effect.
