Spa-Francorchamps (BELGIUM): With the second half of the season all set to begin with next Sunday’s Belgian Grand Prix, Sahara Force India have vowed to improve their position in the Constructors’ Championship by scoring points consistently.

Force India are currently in eighth with 46 points, seven behind Williams and 34 behind sixth-placed Sauber.

Last year Force India had also struggled in the first half and went on to improve their position in the second half.

As action returns to Formula 1 after a five-week summer break, Paul di Resta said his team would do everything to better its position.

“Williams are not too far ahead of us but Sauber have a big points advantage and it’s going to be a big task to overcome that. But we won’t give up; we’ll keep pushing and see what we can do,” Di Resta said.

Nico Hulkenberg also hoped that the team would be able to deliver better in the post-break session.

“I hope that we can make another step forward and can consistently score good results. We are eighth in the championship right now and clearly we want to make a big effort to improve on that in the coming races,” he said.

“It’s a complete package. It’s the car on the track, and whether it’s the set-up, whether it’s the downforce, whether it’s the tyres, at the end of the day the whole thing has to come together as a package. Fundamentally it’s a good car. We just need to put a few more points in our pocket, that’s what’s important,” Team Principal Vijay Mallya said. (PTI)
