DC’s order on product ban, market denotification

TURA: North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner S C Sadhu in an order given under Section 144 CrPC has banned the sale of bottled correcting fluids and thinner in the district.

The prohibition order was given in pursuance of the order issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi and Secretary health, Chandigarh.

The order prohibits, besides bottled correcting fluids, the sale of bottled thinners of any chemical composition both for ink erasing purposes as well as nail polish removers and other similar products, violation of which will invite action under section 188 of the IPC.

Meanwhile, in a separate order Sadhu also denotified Berubari (Darakona) village as a place for exchange of all kinds of goods and commodities adding that the same will not have any kind of bazaar or market.

“In view of COVID-19 situation, Berubari (Darakona) has been notified to exchange arecanut  and other agri-horti  produces on Assam-Meghalaya border. All kutcha structures will be demolished except few shops which were there before notifying the place for exchange of arecanut,” the order by the DC read.
