TURA/SHILLONG: Three men who stand accused of raping a minor girl in the plains of West Garo Hills have gone into hiding after an FIR was lodged with the police.
The accused men, allegedly former members of a local social organisation from the area, took advantage of the girl by luring her away to a secluded spot where they committed the crime on Thursday night.
The victim reportedly suffered severe injuries and has been shifted to Tura for medical treatment.
When contacted, police said the girl was referred to Tura for treatment and was stable.
Police also said that the victim has identified the three accused and hunt for the trio is on.
