Meghalaya to keep entry points closed in Ist week of September

GUWAHATI: Meghalaya government will keep all entry points to the state closed during the period from midnight of August 31 to the midnight of September 7 in order to provide a breather to the frontline health workers, police personnel and district administration staff engaged in fighting the COVID19 pandemic in the state.

The currently operated entry points to Meghalaya are located at Byrnihat, Ratacherra, Bajengdoba, Tikkrikkilla, Mirjumla and Hallidayganj.

An order issued to this effect by the state Chief Secretary, M S Rao stated that only movements related to emergency, medical and essential services, good and inter-state transit vehicles will be allowed during this period.

All persons who intend to visit/return to Meghalaya during the period are advised to reschedule their travel plans.
