Yamuna water level swells
New Delhi: The water level of the Yamuna in Delhi rose to 204.41 metres on Friday, precariously close to the warning mark of 204.50 metres following heavy rains, officials said.
The water level rose because of rains in Delhi and neighbouring areas, he said.
“The water level was recorded at 204.41 metres at the Old Railway Bridge at 5 pm. It was 204.30 metres at 9 am on Friday morning and 203.77 metres at 10 am on Thursday,” an official of the Irrigation and Flood Control department said. (PTI)
Woman dupes priests
Sitapur (UP): A woman in Sitapur district in Uttar Pradesh organised an elaborate ‘puja’ with around 40 priests that lasted for 11 days and then duped them by paying them with coupon notes, also known as amusement currency.
The incident took place in Terwa Manikpur village and the priests have now lodged an FIR of fraud and criminal breach of trust against the woman, identified as Geeta Pathak, wife of G.R. Pathak, at the Rampur Mathura police station. (IAns)
CISF launches mobile app
New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Friday launched a mobile application for its pensioners as part of an e-office initiative introduced in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, officials said.
“The pensioners corner app will be available in both web and Android platforms with the facility for pensioners to access their data on the move.” (PTI)
