Guwahati petrol pumps strike called off

GUWAHATI: The North East India Petroleum Dealers’ Association (NEIPDA), Greater Guwahati Unit has called off indefinite petrol pump bandh strike that they had proposed from September 7 next after the one-point demand of the association has been accepted.

The president of the NEIPDA (GGU), Rajib Goswami, informed that the district administration, Kamrup (Metro) today called an emergent meeting with BPCL, IOCL, HPCL and NEIPDA (GGU) and in the meeting BPCL has assured district administration as well NEIPDA-GGU   that they will resume supply of MS and HSD immediately as demanded by the dealers’ association and they have extended the time to sign the agreement till December 2020 as demanded by the association.

Therefore, after signing the minutes the NEIPDA decided to withdraw proposed indefinite petrol pump bandh that was called from September 7.
