JOWAI: Consumers under the leadership of the Rikut Parien President of the Jaintia Students Union on Friday, met PS Dkhar, Deputy Commissioner Jaintia Hills and apprised him the unsystematic supply of LPG to the consumer.

The delegation informed the DC that in spite of the last order made by the office of the deputy commissioner that home delivery in Jowai will start from August 2, the two gas agencies namely the Ripnar gas agency and the Rymbai gas agency has failed on its commitment to deliver LPG at the home of the consumer.

Parien told the DC that instead of acting on the order, the agency has deliberately delayed delivering of LPG to the consumer and they had to wait for months on end for their turn.

One of the consumer said that the owner of one agency has admitted that there is no shortage of supply this time.

The DC gave a patient hearing to the grievance brought by the consumer and the president of the JSU and assured the delegation that he will see to it that the agencies deliver LPG refills to the door step of the people. Others who met the DC were HH Mohrmen, Sajeki Passah among others.
