JOWAI: The Meghalaya Government College Teacher Association (MGCTA), Jowai Unit have expressed their unhappiness over the attitude of the government for non-payment of honorarium to morning shift lecturers for more than a year.
“Such attitude of the government might lead to sudden boycott of classes which in turn badly affect the student community of the college”, stated a release issued here.
The College Teachers in Jowai held its meeting here on Friday and requested the Government to release the honorarium of the teachers at the earliest.
In addition, the MGCTA, Jowai unit has also request the Government to speed up the payment of 80 percent arrears due from January 2006 and restoration of allowances which was withdrawn since January 1996 to the Government College Lecturers.
