ITANAGAR:Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Takar Mardeon Thursday said they should work vigorously to eradicate the growing crimes, law and order problems with zeal and commitment for a peaceful civil society.
The Home Minister attended a series of development meetings with the police, district administration, PRI members, student organisations and business community at Pasighat, district headquarters of East Siang in Arunachal Pradesh. To have a first hand knowledge of functioning of Pasighat police station and to check unlawful and criminal activities in the district, Marde was accompanied by Education Minister Bosiram Siram, DC Onit Panyang, SP Alok Kumar, DCC president Tatong Padung and local senior officers and leaders inspected the Pasighat Police Station.
He urged to pay full respect to their uniform stating it is a symbol of unity, integrity, strength and capacity to deliver public services to the society.
However, he expressed his satisfaction over the functioning of the police station and further assured to look into the demands for modernisation.
During another consultative meeting held in Dharamsala located at Pasighat main market, the Minister discussed a wide range of issues with the local MLA and Minister Bosiram Siram, DC, SP, president, Pasighat Market Association, Onyok Tamuk, secretary Bhimlal Srivastava and other members on breach of law and order situation.
Marde also instructed the police authorities not to plead for unjustified bail.
The existence of a peaceful civil society cannot be thought of without administration and police as both are they are vital wings of government, Marde added.
Accepting the great contribution of the business community, he stated that peace and progress could be achieved if there was a will. (UNI)
At another meeting with the Education minister, DC, SP, HoDs, ZPMs and PRI functionaries and law experts, the Panchayati Raj Minister Takar Marde said the objective of the meeting was to keep him posted on various developments achieved so far and problems faced by the PRI members and officers in implementing government scheme and projects in the district.
Issues like law and order, shortage of police personnel, land encroachment and eviction drive, improvement of education sector etc were also discussed.
Urging the government officers and PR leaders to extend their best cooperation in the state’s building process, Mr Marde stated that elected representatives could bring good policies and necessary funds only and success depends on sincere participation.
Supporting Bosiram Siram’s appeal, Mr Marde said, “the state cannot run towards progress without having own revenue resources.”
He called all the senior citizens, PRI members, government officials, student unions and common people to accept all the ongoing hydropower projects of the state initiated by the government in larger interest of the people and progress of the state in particular and the nation as a whole. UNI
