TURA: The Youth Wing of the BJP in East Garo Hills has sought the intervention of the Deputy Commissioner with regard to poor network connectivity and frequent power cuts in the district.

In a memorandum submitted to Deputy Commissioner, Swapnil Tembe the youth body pointed out that at a time online classes are being taken due to Covid-19 poor mobile network and power failures were proving difficult especially for the students.

“Service providers like BSNL, Jio, Airtel, Idea, Vodafone are providing very poor network. This is not only affecting the students but poor people from rural and remote areas who come to the bank for minor work have to stand in a queue for long periods when there is poor network as their transaction cannot be completed,” the Youth Wing said.

With regard to frequent power cuts, the youth body said that the students were facing the brunt here as well as they need electricity to study as well as to charge their phones to attend online classes.

The youth body urged the Deputy Commissioner to take up the matter with both the concerned departments so that the problem being faced by the students and the people in general can be resolved.
