TURA: The BJP youth wing in East Garo Hills has sought the intervention of the deputy commissioner into poor network connectivity and frequent power cuts in the district.
In a memorandum submitted to Deputy Commissioner, Swapnil Tembe, the youth wing pointed out that at a time when online classes are being conducted, poor mobile network and power failures were proving out to be stumbling blocks to the students.
“Service providers like BSNL, Jio, Airtel, Vodafone-India (now Vi) are providing very poor network. This is not only affecting the students but also poor people from rural and remote areas who have to stand in bank queues for long periods as due to poor network, transactions take time,” the youth wing said.
With regard to frequent power cuts, the youth body said that the students were suffering as they need electricity to study as well as to juice up the battery of their devices in order to attend online classes.
The youth body urged the DC to take up the matter with both the concerned departments so that the issues faced by the students and people in general can be resolved.
