SHILLONG: Residents of West Shillong on Sunday alleged that the health department has acted irresponsibly to a COVID-19 positive case in the locality.
Congress leader, Michael Pakyntein informed that one person Pintu Dhar, a resident of Bishop Falls, Lower Mawprem was tested positive for the virus on Saturday while concerned authority advised him to stay at home.
“Our concern is that the patient is a tenant who lives with 4-5 other tenants in the same compound, using the same toilet. How is this possible? How is this allowed? This careless act will pose a threat to the other tenants living around him and the locality as a whole as well,” Pakyntein said.
The residents of the locality urged the Meghalya Health Department to look into the matter and not to put the general public at risk due to their negligence and carelessness.
