JOWAI: The Jaintia Youth Federation (JYF) Jowai City have asked the JHADC Chief Executive Member (CEM) , Lamdibok Sumer, to resign from his post as the Executive Committee led by him failed to implement the multi-crore Iawmusiang Market Project in Jaintia hills.

The JYF informed that a team of delegation led by Jowai City President, Khroo Shylla along with Organising Secretary, H Pariat and others met the JHADC Chief and sought his clarification on the delayed market project. “The CEM could not give us a satisfactory reply to our queries and he only informed us that the Council is facing a financial crisis”, a statement issued here said.

“We want to see that the market comes up but what we have observed is that the present Executive committee has failed to start the project despite the Ministry of DoNER releasing the first installment for the project”, the release stated.

The JYF Jowai City has issued a one month deadline to the JHADC Chief to start the construction of the market project.

“We will wait for one month and if the market fails to come up, it is better for the CEM to tender his resignation”, the JYF said.
