SHILLONG: Water Resources Minister AL Hek has said that the preparation of the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for utilizing of the funds under the ‘Clean Wahumkhrah Campaign’ is not required.

“The various initiatives which are supposed to be taken up under the campaign do not require the preparation of any DPRs,” Hek said while replying to a question raised by UDP legislator Paul Lyngdoh in the Assembly on Friday. According to Hek, the campaign mainly stressed in the conduction of awareness programme, poster campaigns and holding of talk show on the issue of how to clean the Wahumkhrah at local cable channels. While replying to the supplementary question of Lyngdoh whether the Government is converging with the KHADC who has also adopted a similar campaign to clean the Wahumkhrah, Hek said that as it stands at present, there is no convergence between the Government and the KHADC.
