Brawl between friends costs life

NONGPOH: Sometimes when sharing drinks, even friends end up in brawls over disagreement or arguments, but this time a life was lost when a man allegedly hit his friend, who succumbed to his injury.
The incident happened on Sunday when the duo — B Umsong and the deceased, Barkmen Lawai — was at Shilliang Umdoh, 18 Mer in Ri Bhoi sharing few drinks.
Two good friends Umsong and Lawai were casually drinking at a place in Shilliang Umdoh 18 Mer, when a brawl broke out between them and things turned ugly as they started a fight, according to sources.
In the fight, Umsong allegedly struck Lawai, following which the latter was seriously injured and subsequently succumbed to his injuries, sources said.
The two persons were reportedly engaged as daily labourers and lived in a rented house at 17 Mer, Ri Bhoi.
