Coal smuggling on despite govt denial

SHILLONG: Albeit the MDA government continues to refute the allegations as far as illegal transportation of coal is concerned, three coal-laden trucks have been detained in a short span of one week.
According to police report, while one detention was made on October 18, the other two were made on October 16.
On October 18 evening, police detected one truck (ML-04B-0054) driven by Kynphamsing Phawa (25) at Byrnihat Police Checking Point, Ri Bhoi, while transporting coal in violation of NGT order.
In a similar incident, one dumper truck driven by one Shem Dkhar was detained at Le-Kilo, East Jaintia Hills on October 16 evening while illegally transporting coal.
On the same night, around 11:50 pm, police detected another truck (NL-01AA-9444) while illegally transporting coal at Nongpoh Check Point in Ri Bhoi.
