Jamshedpur: Royal Wahingdoh’s campaign to qualify for the Federation Cup ended on Friday without them even playing their second match.

With only one place available from each of the two groups, Kalighat MS qualified for the main round by winning their second match, beating Vasco Sporting Club of Goa 4-1 in the fourth match of the 34th Federation Cup qualifying stage.

Kalighat had earlier beaten Wahingdoh 6-0 on Wednesday. The Shillong team will play a dead rubber versus Vasco on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Aizawl still have a hope, but they need HAL to beat mighty Mohammedan in their match on Saturday. (Agencies)
