Kohima: A meeting of the Eastern Nagaland Peoples Organization (ENPO) with its six tribal federating units and Easter Naga national workers has decided to appeal to the chairmen of Cease Fire Monitoring Group and Cease Fire Supervisory Board to enforce the Cease Fire Ground Rules in letter and spirit in ENPO jurisdiction, particularly movement of cadres with arms and in uniforms in civilian areas, to make it a ‘meaningful non-conflict zone’.

According to the resolution of the meeting, ENPO president P Pongom Khiam and General Secretary N T Thamlong Phom said it was resolved to uphold the reaffirmations of December 18, 2007 Tuensang Summit, November 13, 2009 Kiphire Summit and March 23, 20012 Tuensang Summit.

It was decided that in the event of threats, killings, torture, physical intimidation, kidnappings etc by any Naga national group or faction to leaders/innocent citizens of ENPO within and outside ENPO jurisdiction, stern and appropriate action will be taken by the general public of the ENPO area irrespective of tribes.

This is based on the September 11 meeting resolution and particularly Longleng Resolution of September 29, 2005.

The meeting further decided that the habitual defectors of any underground faction will not be enrolled in any Naga national group, the release said. (UNI)
