KHLIEHRIAT: The East Jaintia Hills District Magistrate has barred overloaded vehicles, or rather trucks, from plying on the National Highway-6. The directive comes owing to the plying of overloaded vehicles on the already-damaged highway.
According to a statement on Wednesday, despite the recent downpour causing damage to the roads along the NH-6, overloaded vehicles continue to ply, thereby rendering the lives of people at risk.
The order states that all heavily loaded trucks passing through the NH-6 are required to strictly keep in mind the parameter set by the Transport department to carry loads.
