Curtains down on weeklong awareness campaign

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides on Saturday brought its weeklong awareness campaign on COVID-19 to an end.
The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides had organised an Awareness Campaign Week in commemoration of the 70th Annual Foundation Day 2020. The campaign was thematised on ‘MBSG Fights COVID-19’.
The concluding day of the awareness campaign was marked with a blood donation camp in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Meghalaya Branch.
“The inauguration programme was attended by members, Dr G Myrthong, Dr C Budnah, Dr B Lato from the Regional Blood Bank, Pasteur Institute; AN Sawian, General Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Meghalaya Branch, RO Wallang, IFS (Retd), H Shabong, both members of the Member Managing Body, IRCS respectively, and H Marwein, President, AI JINGIM voluntary blood donors’ organization,” a statement said on Saturday.
During the programme, state secretary, Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides, A Swer, presented the welcome speech and shed information on the weeklong awareness campaign.
She also lauded the blood donors for coming forward voluntarily. Altogether, a total of 38 donors were recorded out of which 23 were fit and able to donate.
