SHILLONG: The state BJP has condemned the Maharashtra government over the arrest and the reported harassment of Republic TV Editor-in-Chief, Arnab Goswami, and accused the Uddhav Thackeray government of misusing “state machinery”.
A statement from BJP on Saturday said that by trying to suppress the fourth pillar of democracy, the Maharashtra government “has, in recent months, shown their true fascist colours”.
Meanwhile, Goswami on Saturday failed to get any immediate relief as the Bombay High Court reserved its order on his interim bail plea. However, the court has said that he can move the sessions court for regular bail in the meantime.
