SHILLONG, Nov 18: The Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) War Jaintia Circle on Wednesday urged Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong to upgrade the branch office of the PWD Amlarem Sub-Division to a Divisional Office.
In a memorandum to Tynsong, the JSU said that the Amlarem Civil Sub-Division deserves to have high-functioning government offices as it looks after the international border and is also a home to the largest international trade port in the Meghalaya.
It also maintained that the move of upgrading will help the locals financially.
